Who's Who

Left to right:
  • "Henry Brakhage" is Henry John Brakhage.
  • "Carl Dierksen" is Carl C. Dierksen.
  • "Harold Brunken" is Harold Carsten Brunken.
  • "Wm Brunken" is William Leopold Brunken.

Story

A picture of Grandfather Brunken, William Leopold Brunken, with Henry John Brakhage and Carl C. Dierksen. According to the 1920 US Census, both Henry and Carl lived in the Lahoma, Oklahoma area and according previous US Census records they had previously lived in Nebraska.

The boy in the background appears to be waving to get the attention of whomever is taking the picture.

The caption under the picture has the boy identified as Harold Brunken,  His name is written in a smaller script as if it may have been added at a later time than the names of the men.

The car appears to be the same as that shown in the Wish I Didn't Have To Wear Shoes post.  Note in particular the mud on the tires in both pictures. Note also that the men in this picture are the fathers of the children in the Wish I Didn't Have To Wear Shoes post.

Date

Circa 1924. Based on the apparent age of Mildred and the other two children in the Wish I Didn't Have To Wear Shoes post.

Location

Lahoma, Oklahoma - probably.

Notes

  1. Scanned on October 29, 2014 from a picture album prepared by Hilda Ida Brunken.
